Ministry of the Word:
The LORD purifies the life of his people by establishing clear statutes.
Four statutes make distinctions to warn against pollution:
1. Polluting the works, words and gifts of God (vv.19-25)
2. Polluting the self with Gentile customs (vv.26-30)
3. Polluting the assembly with home-grown depravity (vv.29-30)
4. Polluting the living by inquiring of the dead (vv.31)
Four statues remove distinctions to promote purity:
1. Pure reverence (vv.32)
2. Pure love (vv.33-34)
3. Pure justice (v.36-37)
4. Pure obedience (v.37)
